10 months already

D had her 9 month well check yesterday- (she'll be 10 months in one week- crazy how the times flies- 2 month countdown to the her b-day party has begun).  The appointment went well.  She is developing good- and although at her last month she was in the 90th percentile for her weight she is now between the 50th-75th percentile.  She has stayed at a little over 19 lbs for the past 3 plus months.

I had asked the doctor if I need to feed her more and he said no, she is doing great and to just continue what I am doing and she'll let me know when she is hungry.  Because she has been so active lately with her speed crawling- I'm telling you the girl could win a gold medal in baby olympics- that is the reason she isn't gaining.

She is venturing out a lot more these days with food and she loves everything, especially the Plum Organics food pouches that she can maneuver more on her own which she LOVES since she has become so independent.  I still nurse her, but she has slowed down a lot with nursing during the day.

Speaking of nursing- I was thinking back to how hard it was in the beginning.  I would cry, and it was so incredibly painful- it was my life for the first two months of D's life and everything was planned around her nursing schedule 24/7.  I didn't know if her or I would ever 'get it' and I would cry to my sister-n-law and she would encourage me to stick it out because it would get better.  And I am so glad that I did.  So many times, I wanted to give up.  But it finally did become easier and both D and I finally did 'get it' and now we are both pro's! Crazy to think that we only have a few months left of nursing.  I am going to try to wean her around a year old, but truly she is starting to wean herself.  I just want to make it to at least a year so that I do not need to put her on formula.  (I am not saying formula is bad- I would never judge someone on this) it is just my preference not to have to put D on formula and I love that I have that choice.

Last week I posted about my Citrus Lane subscription- and since then I think I have signed up for about 3 more monthly subscription boxes- I am becoming an addict I tell you and may need an intervention!  But I plan on doing more posts to let you all know how great the boxes are and what I like or dislike about them.  So stayed tuned!

Citrus Lane

As a new(er) Mom (D is almost 10 months now) I am always looking for the newest and greatest products for her.  I want them to be safe and people may say that I am a little bit of a freak when it comes to anything and everything that pertains to her.

A few months ago, I am not even sure how I discovered them, but I came across the Citrus Lane website.  (www.citruslane.com) Citrus Lane is a company that sends you out a "box every month filled with cute and practical products recommended by real parents." They send you only 'products that work great and fulfill a real need' and each month they have a new theme for the contents that they will send to you.

Each box contains 4-5 products for baby (newborn-3yrs) and sometimes a special little gift just for Mom.  They gear the products around the age of your child so not everyone who is a Citrus Lane member will get the same items, it will depend on the age of your child.

April was my first Box and it was similar to the items shown in the picture above, but not exactly.  The theme for April was 'Bed and Bath time fun'  The book I received was different and the bath toy I received was duck nesting toys, but overall very similar to what is shown.

May's theme was 'Fun in the Sun' and I also received almost everything shown in the above photo.  D's hat was a different pattern and instead of the sand bucket she received star nesting toys, but overall very similar.  The hat is an iplay hat and it blocks out all of the harmful UV rays and is 50 spf- which I love!  I also received a plum organics food tube and D absolutely loves eating from the self feed tube.  She is so independent and it is a lot less messy then feeding her with a spoon.  I had never tried those prior to receiving one in my box and now I will be buying them for sure going forward.

Next month's theme for June is "Little Artists"  and I can't wait to see what they send us.  The surprise of not knowing is half the fun, and D loves opening the boxes each month.

I seriously love this company, and so far their customer service has been impeccable.  In my line of work I give great customer service and I expect a lot from other companies and Citrus Lane delivers.  I would recommend them to any Mom.

If you are interested you can go to this link:  http://www.citruslane.com/invitedby/Michelle.Finn  and right now you can start your monthly subscription for less! Take 10% off the cost of your subscription with code SPRINGFUN. You'll save $7.50 on three months, $12.50 on six months, or $25 on twelve months!

My subscription is currently for 12 months and most likely I will extend it beyond that.  For the amount you pay each month you get double that in products (at least that has been the case so far for me).  If you have any questions, please just let me know and I'd be happy to answer them based off of my experience.

Also, I was not paid or given any type of incentive or free product to write this review, it is solely based off of my own experience with this company and I wanted to share how great they are.

Thanks Citrus Lane- I am one happy customer!

It's been along time

I have been debating on whether or not to start writing on my blog again. . .

It has been. . . A YEAR AND A HALF!

I don't even know if I remember how to do this anymore, but I miss it, and instead of blogging the past year and a half I have been writing in a journal when I have the time (which isn't that often)

I do read up on some of my favorite blogs and keep up with what they are doing.  I never / or hardly ever comment, so hopefully that isn't stalking.  But I like to read what they have to say, that was the original reason I started reading them, and they kind of feel like family even though we don't talk and we don't know each other in 'real' life.  A little crazy, but that's ok.

A lot has been happening in my neck of the rainy woods, so I should have enough to write about.  It is all about timing.  But hopefully I will start to make some time.

I'm dreaming of...

My teeth falling out.....

WHAT????

Yes, I dreamt that five (at least) of my teeth fell out last night! I woke up and had to feel for my teeth and make sure that they were all still there.

It was the weirdest thing in my dream.... I was in my old grade school locker room, although it was bigger, and one tooth fell out and then another and another, and it was so weird. It didn't hurt, and I would just push my tongue up against one and it would just slide out.

What does that mean? Anyone a dream analyzer out there? I tend to have some crazy dreams, but this was by far one of the craziest. I was so thankful to wake up and have all my teeth, you have no idea!

I did floss right before bed, maybe subconsciously I went to sleep thinking about my teeth?

Hmmmm

Never Grow Up!

So I guess it's a music themed week!
I bought the new Taylor Swift CD on itunes and the whole CD is fabulous!
This song makes me think of my babies (that is- the children that I am so blessed to have in my life- my nieces and nephews) They fill my heart with so much happiness and more than once I have told each one of them that I didn't want them to grow up, I wanted them to stay the same age forever and to love me as much as they do right now! My little T-bugs reassured me once that he'll always love me and when he gets older he will bring his wife and 6 kids to my house all the time. (I am going to remind him of this one day!) There is NOTHING like having them come into my house and run to me with their arms wide open to give me loves. I would do ANYTHING for them. They hold my heart in their hands and they don't even know it.

Your little hands wrapped around my finger...

I'd give anything if you could stay like that...

Don't ever grow up... Just stay this little...

I won't let no body hurt you...

Won't let no one break your heart...

No one will ever desert you...

Oh darling

Don't you ever grow up...

Don't you ever grow up...

It could stay this simple...

Just don't ever grow up...

I love my babies!

A Reminder that I hope I NEVER forget....

I heard this song for the first time this evening and it completely touched my heart.

We are all human, we all make mistakes, some small and some very big.

But NO ONE but God knows our hearts and knows our pain and our past as well as our future.

It is NOT our place to judge others.

It is NOT our place to place blame.

It is NOT our place to talk bad about people.

It IS our place to LOVE like JESUS LOVES!

It IS our place to FORGIVE like JESUS FORGIVES!

I hope you enjoy this song as much as I did and I hope if you have feelings of guilt, or shame, or hatred or judging, or any other list of things, that you will know that Jesus loves, and Jesus Forgives. More than anything I want to follow His example and do the same, I hope you do too!

A few things I know

Way back in March..... I did a post called A Few Things I know

I had meant to continue this post as a weekly post, however I went on an unexpected 4 month hiatus....

But now I am continuing on...

A Few Things I Know (this week)....

I know that I need sleep to function!

I know that I love my husband more and more and as tough as marriage can sometimes be, it really does get easier, and it is SO worth it!

I know that if I am not blessed with a baby of my own, I have 6 babies that I get to share and love like they are my own, and I am so thankful for Sisters and Brothers that let me have them whenever I want and let me love them like a parent.

I know that someday those 6 babies won't be babies anymore, but I will still call them my babies.

I know that I am blessed with the most amazing friends. I said this before, but it is so true and I had to say it again.

I know that I would rather be to cold than to hot, because it is easier to get warmer when you are cold then to get cooler if you are too hot.

I know that people think I am crazy for decorating for Christmas so early, but I am so excited to decorate and put out my trees on November 1st! :)

I know that it never fails.... every time I buy something online, two days later I get an email about a sale on the same item or a gift with purchase and because I bought my item two days earlier, I am not eligible for the discount or gift. Arrggggg!

I know that getting back into a workout routine is HARD WORK, why did I ever stop working out in the first place?!

What are a few things that you know?
