strange and unusual events

The day was a typical day- work, work, more work and a crying toddler wanting me to hold her constantly.

Then dinner time came around- Danni is NOT a picky eater- but the girl would not eat- I tried three different items and nothing- she didn't even want her juice which she usually gulps down in one swallow.

I tried to do some 'pinterest' crafts - but had the same crying toddler at my heals.  I picked her up and held her and she almost instantly fell asleep in my arms.  No nursing, no rocking, no singing a lullaby (FYI-THIS NEVER HAPPENS- I have to do at least one of the three if not all three for 30 plus mins. to get her to close her eyes)

I lay her in her crib around 8 pm.  She wakes up ever 10-15 mins. and I continue to walk back and pat her back so she will fall back asleep.  After doing this for over an hour I finally pick her up and hold her in my arms in the rocking chair in the living room.

She wakes up for a min. when Daddy comes home from bowling.

And then it happens- while I am holding her in my arms she lifts her head and throws up all.over.me!  So much that I even have to help her because there is so much in her mouth she is going to choke on it. And to think I laughed at Dan when this happened to him a few months back- I wasn't laughing this time, but I was worried for me little princess.

Dan took Danni and stripped her down for a bath while I changed my clothes.  (Dan doesn't do well with diapers, but puke doesn't seem to phase him for one bit- I guess that is one of the reasons we make a good team- because I am the opposite!)

I get Danni bathed and all snuggled up in warm jammies and she curls up on my lap and just lays there watching the X-Factor with me.  - Danni loves me, she has major separation anxiety when I am in another room (she is always with me) but the girl is independent- even though she doesn't want me more than 1 foot away from her at all times, she NEVER just snuggles to snuggle.  So I treasured her snuggling up to me and just laying there watching a show with me.  I loved every single minute.  I kept having Dan look at her to tell me if she was asleep but she was awake the whole time.

Then, again, with no nursing, rocking or singing she falls asleep in my arms.  I couldn't believe it.  THIS.NEVER.HAPPENS.people!

I take her to her crib and lay her down- it is now about 10:30 pm.  around 11:30 pm I finally get myself to bed and fall asleep.

At 2:30 am- Dan wakes me up in a panic- 'Where is Danni?' in my sleepy state, I panic too and we both are feeling all over our bed for her and she is not there- then I wake up enough to realize that she hasn't woken up yet (she usually wakes up after 3-4 hrs. of sleep and then is in bed with us the rest of the night)

Dan goes and checks on her in her crib and comes back and says she is still sleeping.

5:24 am- I wake up and realize again that Danni is still not in bed with us.  At first I try to go back to sleep, but then I think, 'what if Dan didn't really see that she was breathing good' so I worry and get up and go check on her myself.  (I have anxiety- what can I say)  She is sound asleep with the blanket over her face and her head all the way in the corner of her crib bumper.  But I could hear her breathing, so I go back to bed and wake up Dan to tell her that 'hey, our child who NEVER sleeps- is still sleeping.' I told him how she had her blanket and where she was sleeping and he says that she was in that same position at 2:30 am.

Then I try to go back to bed, and of course I can't.  I keep thinking, how can she breathe for that long with the blanket over her head and all cramped in the corner of the crib.  So an hour later I go check on her and she is still sleeping but she has changed positions and the blanket is no longer over her face.  I am finally at ease and go back to sleep.

7:30 am- I hear my little princess- awake- not crying- but playing in her crib.  THIS.NEVER.HAPPENS. either!  I wake up Dan again and tell him this news.  a few mins. later she starts to get fussy and I go get her.

BUT STOP THE PRESS LADIES AND GENTS- DANNI SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!  A whole 9 HOURS- 9 HOURS!!!!  THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED- NEVER!!!!  and I highly doubt it will happen again anytime soon, but I am thankful for a good nights sleep and I am thankful that Danni got a good night of sleep.  And she is chipper as can be this morning and no sign of any sickness.  And there you have- some very strange and unusual events up in the Finn household on the night of Oct. 23rd- I think I may declare it a national Finn holiday!

Danni asleep in my arms- before she got sick!
